What is The Process to Earn Certification

Are you in need of Lifeguarding Certification and wonder how our program works?

Once the World Academy of Safety & Health (WASH) Lifeguard Certification program is approved in your state or jurisdiction, we will deliver all of our WASH training courses as full in-person trainings or as blended format trainings. They will be delivered by a WASH Authorized Training Center (ATC) or a WASH Authorized Instructor in your local geographic area.

FULL IN-PERSON COURSE

All instruction, skills practice, video presentations, lecture, and more will be completed in the live presence of a World Academy of Safety & Health (WASH) certified instructor over the course of a series of in-person class sessions. These class sessions will scheduled directly with a WASH Authorized Training Center (ATC) or a WASH Authorized Instructor in your local geographic area.

Our office can assist with putting you in contact with an ATC or Instructor near you. Call: 1-800-484-0419 or Email: admin@lifeguardcertifications.com.

Attendance at all of the scheduled class sessions for each session’s entirety is a non-flexible requirement. No make-up sessions will be provided. If you must miss a class session or any portion thereof, you must notify the instructor and reschedule the missed sessions (additional fees will apply)

Certification

As part of the course, each participant will be required to successfully complete an American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic First Aid course.

Upon successful completion of both the ASHI BLS/Basic First Aid course (will be delivered during your scheduled lifeguard class sessions) and the WASH Lifeguard course, the student will earn and be issued (as a PDF via email) a World Academy of Safety & Health (WASH) Lifeguard Certification card. The student will also be issued an ASHI BLS/Basic First Aid certification card. Both certifications will be current for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion as listed on each card.

Your lifeguard certification can be retrieved if lost and/or needing to be verified by using the ‘Locate My Certification‘ page which will redirect you top the World Academy of Safety & Health Certification Retrieval online tool. You must have your certificate number – so, please record your certificate number somewhere safe in case you misplace the card. If you lose your card and do not have the certificate number, our office can locate it using your name but, there is a $8 administrative charge for this service.

BLENDED FORMAT COURSE

Our blended format courses are delivered in two parts – an online module followed by in-person skills sessions. This delivery method allows the in-person skills sessions to be reduced in length as many of the video presentations, powerpoint and other slide presentations, and skills video clips are included in the online module which is completed at the participant’s pace prior to the in-person sessions. Additional instruction and coaching, physical skills practice, testing and skills verification will be completed in the live presence of a World Academy of Safety & Health (WASH) certified instructor over the course of a series of in-person class sessions. These class sessions will scheduled directly with a WASH Authorized Training Center (ATC) or a WASH Authorized Instructor in your local geographic area.
