This is delivered as a full in-person course. The price includes all classroom, open water, and/or swift water sessions as well as the certification PDF after successful completion of the course.

The course will be delivered by one of WASH International’s Authorized Training Centers (ATCs) or Authorized Instructors in your geographic area.

Participant(s) must supply PWC.

Topics include: safe PWC operation; PWC design & construction; hydrology; pre and post operation maintenance and system/safety checks; self-rescue; victim approach; victim pick-up/recovery; current flows; towing, lunching, & docking; transfer of crew member(s); throw bag rescues from PWC; deploying crew and/or rescue swimmer; pick-up of crew and/or rescue swimmer; sled operation; PWC operation skills practice. All topics are delivered/discussed as they relate to PWC operations.

Participants who successfully complete the PWC Rescue Operators Course receive a certificate from the World Academy of Safety & Health (WASH) }International valid for two (2) years from date of completion.

Description

Delivery: This is delivered either as a full in-person course. Price includes all classroom and open water sessions as well as the certification PDF once the entirety of the course is successfully completed.

ATC: The course will be delivered by one of WASH International’s Authorized Training Centers (ATCs) or Authorized Instructors in your geographic area.

Design: This course is designed for rescue professionals who have significant experience in, on, or around swift moving non-tidal water and/or open water (tidal or non-tidal); technical rescue; and/or employment as an emergency responder. This course is geared toward search and rescue teams, military or para-military organizations, park rangers or forest service personnel, firefighters, ocean lifeguards.

Age Requirement: minimum of 18 years of age

Required Equipment: PWC (1 per 3 participants), helmet, wet suit and/or dry suit, gloves

Certification: Participants who successfully complete this course receive a WASH PWC Rescue Operators certificate valid for two (2) years from date of completion.

Course Progression: PWC Rescue Swimmer

Prerequisites: minimum of 18 years of age; current WASH Surf Rescue and/or WASH International Swift Water Rescue Intermediate (or equivalent certificate(s))

Course Length:  This course takes approximately 20-24 hours of contact time.
